In recent years, the United States automotive market as a free fall due to declining auto sales figures. This situation is the worst because most of the dealers around the world can no longer remain open in the middle of the economic crisis.
But in the midst of economic uncertainty, many parties are optimistic that current trends will change until 2014, at least for Volkswagen. German car manufacturer was interested to revive sales in the U.S..
VW has a target of 800,000 units per year by 2018, and they hope to achieve by expanding their dealership base.
Principals in Germany is also planning to do make-over to their showroom 588 in the U.S. to increase sales.
VW CEO Jonathan Browning states, will hold a "radical change" in the context of the sale in order to really start taking off.
Currently no one can know exactly how "healthy" in the American automotive industry actually, but VW officials optimistic and plans to invest some funds at the opening of its new showroom.
"We must increase the number of dealerships across the country," Browning said in an interview with Wards Automotive.
"But our first focus is very much using the existing network capacity," he added.
In the interview session, Browning talked about several new products and technologies (at the launch of Passat in Chattanooga), and it seems that the new vehicles seven-passenger capacity will be produced in the near future.
The speculation is that these vehicles have something in common with Bulli concept from the Geneva Motor Show 2011.
