World News - A man who allegedly shot memberondongkan former student at a school in Rio de Janeiro, Thursday (7 / 4). Action man killed 13 people and wounding 22 others.
Perpetrator then committed suicide. "The information we receive is the number of deaths 13, and around 22 people injured, some suffered gunshot wounds to the head," said Colonel Evandro Bezerra, a fire department spokesman, told TV Globo News.
He identified the shooter as Wellington Menezes de Oliveira, 24, believed to be a former student at the school. Police said the perpetrators left a letter saying that he wanted to commit suicide.
Initial reports said he entered the school carrying a backpack and said he would go to the conference, before memberondongkan shot in a classroom. "People came in, and opened fire," said a spokeswoman Rio's Military Police.
Victims include students and staff in public schools, located in the area Realengo, Rio de Janeiro west. Globo News TV showed images of injured victims transported by ambulance at the school.
