World News - 600 protesters arrested during demonstrations in Tunisia during the last five days. The arrest occurred after the fall of President Zine El Abidinia in January.
As reported by ABNA, Wednesday (11.05.2011), Ministry of Interior of Tunisia said that the protesters who were arrested confessed that they committed crimes of theft, arson, weapons possession, and violation of curfew.
The demonstration was initially triggered by soaring cost of living and rising unemployment. It eventually evolved into anti-government protests which eventually dropped the President Zine El Abidine in January.
Since then, citizens often continue demonstration Tunisia. They demanded the turn of the old officials of the interim government.
The demonstration came the day last Thursday, May 5 after former Interior Minister Farhat Rajhi said the followers of Ben Ali's planned military coup to prevent Islamic parties in elections next July.
