Six people killed due to Flash Flood

World News - Four people died in flash floods when the fish and the other two died in northern Vietnam when the storm weakened from the Gulf of Tonkin near the area on Friday (24 / 6).

The rescue team members in Vietam found one body after four people swept away on Thursday after two days of heavy rains in the province of Yen Bai, Vietnam News newspaper said.

Two others, a pregnant woman were killed and more than 50 others were injured when high winds destroyed 850 homes in the port of Haiphong in the north, 100 km southeast of Hanoi, said Vietnam's government television station Television.

Accidents that occurred before the storm entered the Gulf of Tonkin Haima Thursday night, with its center located 140km east of Quang Ninh province at 07:00 local time (07:00 GMT), the national weather center said.

Heavy rains flooded many streets Friday morning in Hanoi, making traffic jams. Heavy rains are forecast again this weekend.

Haima, the second storm hit Vietnam this year, could cause flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas in northern Vietnam, the government said. But the storm was expected to weaken on Saturday morning as it moves into the hinterland.

The rain that hit the northern region may disrupt a coal mine in the province of Ninh Quag, but will not impact on the production of commodities such as rice, which grow in areas further south.

"Vietnam coast guard forces said they sent warnings to ships operating in the East Sea on Thursday.
