Australia captain Lucas Neill could be set for a return home in the A-League after being released by UAE club Al Jazira.
Neill, 34, was released after weeks of speculation over his future with the Gulf club, who also confirmed the sacking of their Brazilian coach Caio Junior.
The defender's availability could interest several A-League sides, although his wage demands could prove a stumbling block following his lucrative spell in the UAE Pro League.
The former Blackburn and West Ham player has already been linked with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr so his services may still come at a premium.
Neill is on in ternational duty with Australia, and is in line to lead the side out against Denmark on Saturday evening.
