The interview is slated to air in two parts on Nov. 10 and 11 on NBC’s Today show.
When asked about the questionable conditions surrounding his famous client's use of the sedative propofol, Murray said, “I looked at my condition with Michael not as I – not as about giving it, but trying to find a method to take away something from him, that I felt he should not have been using on his own.”

A key argument by his defense team during the trial was that Jackson had self-administered the lethal dose of propofol. In the end, the jury didn’t buy it.
“When the death happened, three days towards the, towards his death, he was weaned off,” Murray insisted. “I was extremely happy, because I finally achieved the state I wanted. The state was, Michael away from propofol.”

Despite his knowledge of Jackson’s drug use, Murray claimed that the singer’s sudden death was “not a foreseeable situation.”
In addition to the exclusive interview, MSNBC has produced a documentary titled Michael Jackson and the Doctor to premiere on Friday, Nov. 11 at 10 p.m. The doc will chronicle Murray’s trial from the defense team’s point of view.
Following the verdict, Murray was remanded to custody without bail. He is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 29 at 8:30 a.m. PT and could face up to four years in prison and lose his medical license.
