World News - Syria freed some detainees who are considered to have a relationship with riots in the city.
Detention is Riad Seif and a humanitarian activist Catherine Talli.
Syrian Human Rights Institute Chairman Abdul Karim Rihawi previously said Riad Seif would be released and this has to get permission from the court of appeal. Thus quoted from the Pakistan Times, Monday (05/17/2011).
In addition to Riad, also released on Sunday, Malak Al-Shanawani, a journalist who was arrested on 11 April. A writer is Ammar Dayoub, Jalal Nawfal, who is a doctor and an activist named Ammar Aayrouti.
Approximately 850 people have been killed and 8,000 people arrested since the protests occurred in mid-March.
