Valentim Maria Gomes on May 1 and declared the oldest person in the world, past (age of oldest person last) United States women Besse Cooper, who 48 days younger, according to Guinness World Records.
Valentim, who has been widowed since 1946 and confined in a wheelchair, was treated on Sunday (19 / 6) due to pneumonia and died later from infection, according to Globo news website G1.
Born on July 9, 1896, he appreciated the health-giving diet longevity. Valentim has one son, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-grandfather.
