World News - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad vowed refused to reform when the country was hit by riots. However, national dialogue will continue and create a new constitution.
President Assad said that the national dialogue underway. That dialogue will create a new constitution and allow for the election and end the dominance of the Ba'ath Party rule.
"There is no development without stability, there is no reform at a time when there is sabotage and unrest," said President Assad, as quoted by AFP on Monday (6/20/2011).
Meanwhile, Western countries was urged Syria to realize concrete steps in this reform.
British Foreign Secretary also stressed that President Assad has two options namely to reform the country or step down.
In the case of Syria, thousands of people were killed, wounded and detained as a result do demonstration. Violence in Syria also resulted in deaths of 341 people by security forces.
