Obama: U.S. Will Not Retreat from Libya

World News - U.S. and British troops would never withdraw and softened against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi until it fell from its position. Both countries say that this is done to protect the people of Libya who were targeted attack Gaddafi army.

Obama: U.S. Will Not Retreat from Libya
President of the United States, Barack Obama, at a press conference in England, Wednesday, May 26, 2011, said that the people of Libya have to win against the dictatorship. Obama also said that the U.S. will remain in Libya until people feel safe, which means that Gaddafi has come down.

"We will not soften up to the people of Libya are protected and the shadows of tyranny is abolished," said Obama.

Obama acknowledged that the coalition and NATO troops operating in Libya is running slow, but he sure though slow but steady process. This operation, says Obama, there will continue to do until Gaddafi can no longer attack civilians.

"Time's up for Gaddafi and he should fall from power and handed it to the people of Libya. We will not relax the pressure that we do," Obama said.

This statement was delivered Obama after meeting with British Prime Minister, David Cameron, at his residence at number 10 Downing Street. Britain is one of Obama's goals in a week to a European tour which began on Monday.

A similar claim was also submitted by Cameron. He called for people to be patient because the British and U.S. missions in Libya, two countries takes time. The two heads of state agreed to continue to increase pressure on Gaddafi.

"This is not the time to shrink and retreat and think only of our own interests and problems. This is our problem and this is where our major interests. It's hard to imagine a future with Gaddafi's Libya is still in power. He must go," he said.

Both Obama and Cameron is experiencing pressure from their MPs are questioning the role of the two countries in Libya. U.S. lawmakers even threatened to reduce the budget for the mission assessed Libya because Obama has sent troops without the permission of parliament.
