This is the Map of World Regions Most Earthquake Prone

Scientists created a new map showing the areas most vulnerable to earthquakes around the world. These maps take advantage of the earthquake history for four thousand years.

"Now, more and more people living in disaster prone areas. Earthquakes in Japan and Christchurch (New Zealand) became a tragic reminder about the fragile relationship between human and natural disasters, "said the creator of this map and researcher in the Department of Geography, University of Sheffield, England, Benjamin Hennig.

Hennig also create a new, more maps describing the condition of Japan. This shows the majority of the population in the country, at least 80 million people, concentrated along the Pacific coast. It also includes topographical maps, marine geography, and the depth of sea water.

"This map helps us gain a better understanding of the relationship between natural risks and global population patterns," said Hennig.

This map provides a visualization of all major earthquakes that have occurred since 2150 BC. Criteria earthquakes on this map is the damage exceeds $ 1 million (9 billion), killing over 10 people, a magnitude above 7.5 SR and generates a tsunami.
