Tens of thousands of Syrian President Bashar Assad's support to the streets in the city of Damascus. Residents show support for Assad a few days to face resistance from the opponents.
President Assad is currently faced with the challenge to his rule that has survived for 11 years. The challenge comes from anti-government protests that erupted in several Syrian cities since Friday, March 25 last.
When anti-government protests took place, government forces launched a forcible dissolution that led to the riots. Syrian military opened fire on six cities in Syria, including the capital city of Damascus and Latakia.
As reported by the Associated Press, Tuesday (29/03/2011), during the riots 61 people were reported killed since 18 March.
While supporters claim loyalty to President Assad that it has been in power 11 years. They take action, carrying flags and pictures of Assad.
