Bobby Convey put Kansas City ahead in the 31st minute but it all went wrong for
the visitors after the interval. They were pegged back by Sebastian Grazzini's
penalty equaliser on the hour, had Roger Espinoza sent off for elbowing Grazzini
soon after and then a late Dominic Oduro tap-in condemned them to defeat.

It was a similar story in the match between the Columbus Crewand FC Dallas.
Fabian Castillo's first-half goal put the away team in the ascendancy but they
were reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute when Zach Lloyd was dismissed and then
two goals in six minutes from substitute Justin Meram and Sebastian Miranda
turned the game on its head.

Western Conference-leading Real Salt Lake won 1-0 in Seattle, ending the
Sounders' six-game winning streak. Edgar Espindola netted the game's only goal
with a left-footed volley six minutes into the second half.

A trademark David Beckham free-kick earned the Los Angeles Galaxy a 1-1 draw at
the Montreal Impact.

The former England midfielder curled a fine set-piece inside Donovan Ricketts'
near post just after the hour to cancel out Montreal captain Davy Arnaud's
eighth-minute opener in front of 60,860 fans - an MLS record for a match in
Canada.

The Houston Dynamo got off to the perfect start in the first game at their new
BBVA Compass Stadium home by beating DC United 1-0, Brad Davis' curling
left-footed effort from 35 yards proving decisive.

The New England Revolution came from a goal down to trounce visiting Vancouver Whitecaps
4-1.

Eric Hassli drew first blood for the Whitecaps after five minutes, but Lee
Nguyen got the Revs back on level terms a minute later and further goals from
Saer Sene and Shalrie Joseph put the hosts in control. Nguyen sealed
the rout with his second of the match 18 minutes from time.
