Sigurdsson, who joined Swansea on loan from German club Hoffenheim in January, scored with another stunning strike in Saturday's 3-0 win against Blackburn to take his tally to seven goals in 14 league games.

The Iceland international has become one of the key performers in Brendan Rodger's much-lauded Swansea side and the Welsh club will face a fight to keep hold of the in-form midfielder.

Sigurdsson concedes he does not know where he will be playing h is football next term as Hoffenheim will have the final say on his future.

"It is not down to me, but I am enjoying my football here," he said. "I am very happy here at the moment but I have always said that I have another couple of seasons left on my contract in Germany, so it is not entirely down to me what happens.

"I love English football so I would love to stay. This is a fantastic team and it is fantastic to play football in this league. Hopefully I can stay in the Premier League.

"It has been a fantastic time here since I signed in January. It has been quite easy to come into the team because I've got fantastic players around me. It has been very easy for me to come in and do my job."

Sigurdsson has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the UK press.
