Manchester City midfielder David Silva believes Spain's date with England on Friday will be a "special game" for him.

Silva is in many people's eyes the Player of the Season already despite the campaign being just 11 games old. And now he will get the chance to showcase his talent against England in front of a sell-out Wembley crowd.

"I am happy because we have won all of the qualification games, something which is very difficult," he told the Sunday Mail. "Now we can be relaxed about the European Championships and if we keep on going in this way we will have the chance to win it again.

"This will be a special game for me, above all because this is my second year in England. The truth is everybody treats me very well. I have also got lots of team-mates who play for England. It is a beautiful game and I hope the fans enjoy it.

"To play against my team-mates with the national team will be something really nice. It is a game to enjoy and if I sc ore that will be something beautiful as well even if I get a bit of stick."

City have been in sparkling form this season, dropping only two points all season when surrendering a two-goal lead at Fulham.

"I am happy with the form of the team as a whole," he added. "We have started very well; we are top of the table with a five point advantage. That gives us confidence to keep working and do things well.

"The new signings are doing really well and are giving a lot to the team, above all in terms of adding competition in the squad which is good for the team to always play at a high level.

"I have been lucky to have a year and a couple of months here and I feel really comfortable. When you change everything, the country, the league, the whole atmosphere it can be hard. But the truth is I adapted pretty quickly last year and this year you can see that I have adapted even more and I am very comfortable here.

"The team is really good. In general everyb ody doing really well and therefore that is good for a player individually.

"Right now my hope is to try and win the Premier League. The league is the most important of all and if we win the Premier League it will be a great year because it is the most important competition with games every weekend.

"We will also try and perform an important role in the Champions League and it would be great to win the FA Cup again. You have to go step by step. We are doing things well at the moment and hopefully in the end we can do it. Hopefully in the end we will win more than one title."
