The Houston Dynamo moved second in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 2-0 win
away to the Portland Timbers.

After a slow start to proceedings Andre Hainault put the Dynamo ahead nine
minutes before the half-time whistle was due. Portland tried to rally in the
second half but were undone when Danny Cruz doubled Houston's lead in the 58th
minute.
Elsewhere on Friday night, the Colorado Rapids drew 0-0 at home to Real Salt Lake. The draw was enough to keep Real Salt Lake ahead of Colorado in the MLS Western Conference.
