On-loan Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has described his time with parent club Manchester City as a "headache", insisting he has no desire "to be part of that team".
Adebayor, 27, was signed by former City boss Mark Hughes in 2009 and enjoyed a decent first season at Eastlands, scoring 14 goals in 25 Premier League games and retaining his place as a first-choice striking option when Roberto Mancini took over from the sacked Hughes in January 2010.
But the Togo international fell out of favour with Mancini at the begi nning of the 2010-11 season, making just two Premier League starts in five months and eventually joining Real Madrid on loan for the second half of the campaign.
A return to Eastlands over the summer saw him completely frozen out by the City boss and he joined Tottenham on loan in August. Having scored three goals in six games, Adebayor says he is enjoying life as a Premier League striker again highlighting that having Spurs' boss Harry Redknapp show belief in him has been a key factor.
"I wish City the best of luck but do I wish to be part of that team right now? No. Whenever I woke up last year to go training it was a headache," Adebayor said.
"You want to be in a house where you feel comfortable. Even if the house is a palace, you want to be loved and you want to be happy. At Tottenham, every morning when you come in you see lots of lads working hard in the gym to be fit for the weekend which is a good sign.
"Harry Redknapp is a fantastic manager . He knows how to talk to players. You need that belief from your own manager. He tells you just to go out there and do your thing. That is what Harry has more than anyone else."
