Peter Gallagher and Jane Kaczmarek were once married ... on NBC's 'Whitney.'According to TV Guide, Gallagher has booked a guest gig on the new NBC comedy as Vince, Whitney's estranged father. Whitney's mother is played by 'Malcolm in the Middle' veteran Kaczmarek.
NBC said the character loves his daughter, but often has a habit of popping up at unexpected and inconvenient times.
Gallagher, who currently stars in 'Covert Affairs,' spent four years playing dad to Adam Brody on 'The OC.' His 'Whitney' episode has not been scheduled yet.
In other casting news ...
Mena Suvari is The Black Dahlia on 'American Horror Story.' The 'American Beauty' actress will appear in episode 9, but it's unclear whether her character will go by the name of infamous murder victim Elizabeth Short. [TVLine]
'Episodes' actress Kathleen Rose Perkins has also booked an 'American Horror Story' gig. She'll play Peggy, the best friend of Zachary Quinto's character, Chad. [EW]
Dina Meyer is returning to Beverly Hills. The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' veteran won't be reprising her original role of Lucinda Nicholson on The CW's '90210,' instead she'll play a modeling agent who takes special interest in Liam's career. [TVLine]
