McLaren, who played Rosie’s teacher Bennett Ahmed on the AMC drama, will appear in at least seven episodes of Falling Skies starting with the second season’s premiere.

The 31-year-old will play Sunil Chutani who’s described as a handsome and overwhelmed mechanic who has spent a fortune on an Ivy League engineering degree and was just days away from launching an IPO when the aliens hit.

Aside from The Killing, McLaren also plays Lenin in the Canadian fantasy series, Being Erica. He has also appeared on CBS' mystery thriller, Harper’s Island, Smallville, and he was the red ranger on the 2005 live action kids series, Power Rangers S.P.D. He also appears in the film, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, which opened in select theatres on Sept. 30.

McLaren is represented by Trisko Talent, Pakula/King, and The Hofflund Company.

TNT renewed Falling Skies for a 10-episode second season in July. It returns in summer 2012.
