Chord Overstreet is officially returning to 'Glee.' Let's recap his history with the show: He's in! Out! In? Out! IN! Fox has confirmed Trouty Mouth will be back for a multi-episode guest arc beginning this December.
"We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back," Ryan Murphy, 'Glee' executive producer and co-creator, said in a statement. "So here's an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks -- Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!"
Overstreet joined the cast as recurring character Sam Evans in the beginning of Season 2. Sam was last seen holding hands with Mercedes in the Season 2 finale.
After Overstreet wasn't picked up as a series regular, the show offered him the chance to return as a recurring player. That deal didn't happen (until now) and the show wrote the character out, having him move away during the summer break. However, all that is moot now!
Will he come back and join New Directions, Shelby's rival McKinley High School glee, the Warblers or a completely different group?
