This is contained in the Japanese Defense Ministry's annual report presented on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Reporting from the Associated Press, the report says North Korean missile technology to develop Russia called Musudan.

Japan said North Korea acquired this technology since 1990 and is designed to be launched in the mobile launcher. Based on these reports, Musudan rocket can reach distances up to 2500-4000 miles. While the distance of Guam, USA autonomous region, is only 2,000 kilometers from North Korea.

Compared to North Korea's Taepodong-2 missile that was allegedly able to reach the U.S. west coast, Musudan is not nothing. However, Japan warned of missile of this type can be life threatening 50,000 U.S. troops in Japan and thousands of others on the island of Guam.

"Since the closure of the North Korean regime, it is very difficult to guess the intentions behind the manufacture of these missiles," the report said.

Government of Japan also expressed concern about China's military exercise activity that is increasing in the waters around the country. Moreover China does not give any report about the practice.

"China is trying to increase the scope of maritime activities, performing routine operations and exercises in waters around Japan, including in the South China Sea and Pacific Ocean," the report again.
