World News - Activist human rights groups (Human Rights) said that Syrian authorities have arrested more than 1,000 people in a sweep that they did recently.
Head of the National Organisation of Human Rights in Syria, Ammar Qurabi said his group recorded approximately 1000 names of people who were arrested in Syria in the entire area sweeping from door to door who performed on Saturday, April 30. Qurabi also added, several others reported missing.
President Bashar Assad is determined to crush the uprising that lasted for six weeks to overthrow his rule.
Some of last week, Assad has intensified its operation to stop the protests. He also sent troops and tanks into the center places a rally.
Recently, the Syrian army sweep in the town of Koya in whole-Surian to catch people who are expected to topple President Bashar Assad.
