Bird said Vogel was in the forefront to become the architect Pacers. The reason, Vogel took over as head coach after the Pacers fired Jim O'Brien, posted a 20-18 win-lose record, and led the team into the playoffs. Even so, there is no guarantee that the office of head coach would fall into the lap of Vogel.

"Many people who see that Frank will automatically get a job. However, all of them need a process. We will do everything to get the right people to train the Pacers," says Bird.

Brown, a former Pacers assistant coach to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA finals, 2007 and was selected as the best coach of the NBA 2009.

"I like Mike. Mike look neat when you are here and he's doing a good job while in Cleveland," said Bird.
