New architecture for mobile networks is claimed to be able to stream NSN broadband capacity to the most needed it. Known as the Liquid Radio, this approach allows the use of network resources more economically through the distribution and redistribution of capacity based on user needs. Nokia Siemens Networks has also announced Flexi Antenna System Multiradio innovative architecture as part of Liquid Radio. NSN hopes to hold this architecture in 2011.

"Liquid is not confined so it can flow to fill any gaps or spaces," said Thorsten Robrecht, head of Network Systems product management, Nokia Siemens Networks, in his statement on Tuesday (22/03/2011).

"In the same way, Liquid Radio architecture we eliminate all barriers in the traditional mobile broadband network to cope with fluctuations in traffic due to the movement of users on the network," he said.

The core of the Liquid Radio Nokia Siemens Networks is the ability to respond to fluctuating demand in the current network with a technique known as 'baseband pooling'. This approach focuses resources required to perform processing functions are common in every base station in one particular area. 'Baseband pooling' help realize the sharing of resources more cost effective in a wide geographic area.

Multiradio Flexi Antenna System of Nokia Siemens Network-based active antenna technology that combines antenna and radio parts in a container of functional, built with power amplifier for each antenna element. Active antenna allows beamforming (the formation of a wave file), which focuses on a particular radio connection and direct it to specific users, and handle multiple technologies in one unit.

Together with the other layers of coverage provided by the site configuration macro, pico and micro, beamforming enables capacity directed to place the desired user, resulting in additional capacity up by 65 percent.

Flexi Race is the next evolutionary step in miniaturization. Flexi Race will be a basic element to create next-generation active antenna and future products to build micro cells and pico. Because of its compact size, Flexi Race equipped with additional intelligence and options increased capacity needed for this type of network performance.

With a product portfolio and extensive professional services and unique, Nokia Siemens Networks helps operators to integrate heterogeneous networks. This approach reduces the complexity in the management and enables connectivity to the layers of different networks in one network and an integrated user experience. This is supported by the ability of Self Organizing Networks (SON) from Nokia Siemens Neworks and ongoing evolution to fully support an independent network of intelligent and adaptive.

"We foresee the demand for increased network capacity up to 1 GB per user one day," says Robrecht.

"This not only requires network investments are very large, but also a unique combination of different base station sites for a wide coverage area, equipped with WiFi and micro cells, pico and Femto small and compact. Nokia Siemens Liquid Radio ensure that the investments of existing networks will be fully utilized and investment in the future will produce a payoff that is needed to support the major current challenges in maintaining and making the transition GSM, evolved 3G and introduce LTE and LTE-Advanced, "he explained
