LinkedIn Reach 100 Million Members

CALIFORNIA - career-oriented social networking, LinkedIn, broke through the 100 million members after launch 2003. More than 50 percent of registered LinkedIn users live outside the United States.

"Today we managed to add approximately one million new members a weekly basis LinkedIn. That is, the number of professionals who joined this site faster than one member per one second," said LinkedIn's chief executive Jeff Weiner, as reported by the Straits Times, Wednesday (23 / 3 / 2011).

Weiner added that the main purpose of LinkedIn is connecting professionalsthroughout the the world to make them more productive and successful .

"All 100 million of our members have a unique story, ranging from job hunting, recruiting employees, to seek a new agreement or starting a business,"said Weiner.

Noted, 44 million LinkedIn users came from the United States. Meanwhile, 56 million are living outside U.S. territory. Last year, LinkedIn grew 428 percent in Brazil. The rapid growth also occurred in Mexico (178 percent), India (76 percent) and France (72 percent).

Approximately one million LinkedIn members describe their work as teachers. Interestingly, there were 74 who claimed to be "Elvis Presley tribute artist. "
