Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has said that the club hope to have a new manager by the end of next week, as they kick-start their preparations for a second season in the Premier League.
Having lost manager Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool last week, Jenkins knows that the club must act quickly if they are to give a new manager enough time to prepare for the season.
Wigan assistant Graeme Jones, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway and Danish icon Michael Laudrup are amongst the favourites for the position.
"Somebody told me that the average time we have taken to appoint a new manager in the past has been between 12 and 15 days," the Swansea chairman said. "If we say we will try to do our best to get things sorted out this time within our average time period, hopefully we will not be too far off.
"I think certainly by the end of next week we will be a lot clearer on the situation. That's important, because the sooner we get things nailed down the better. Once the new manager is in place, we can start stepping up our preparations for next season. That's something we want to focus on, of course."
