Wolves striker Kevin Doyle insists he will not go back to Reading despite the Royals' recent promotion to the Premier League.
Doyle endured a terrible 2011-12 season at Molineux, scoring just four goals in 33 league games as Wolves were relegated to the Championship.
The Irishman has nonetheless been linked with a return to former club Reading, whom he played for in two top-flight campaigns before moving to the Midlands in 2009.
It was thought the 28-year-old could be lured to the Madejski Stadium by the prospect of Premier League football, but Doyle says he wouldn't consider such a move.
"I don't think, personally, you should ever go back," Doyle told Sky Sports. "Everyone says it's never the same. My four years was brilliant and I wouldn't like to ruin that.
"Not that I've had the option, by the way. I've not spoken to Brian (McDermott), just to wish him all the best. They've had brilliant success the last two years and they've come up this year. They've got enough strikers and players."
