Southampton have had a bid accepted for Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez in a deal which could rise to £7 million, reports suggest.
Rodriguez, 22, who scored 15 goals in the Championship this season to earn himself a place in the PFA Team of the year, will now meet with the Hampshire outfit to discuss personal terms.
Burnley-born, Rodriguez came through the Clarets' youth system to make his debut in December 2007, before spending spells on loan at Stirling Albion and Barnsley.
After two seasons of regular scoring since Burnley' s return to the Championship, Rodriguez is now regarded as one of the country's top young strikers and Southampton have moved quickly to negotiate a deal.
Rodriguez has scored 41 goals in 128 appearances overall, as well as making one appearance for the England under-21 side in 2011.
