Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has rejected recent speculation that he had been in contact with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona over a move this summer.
Suarez, 25, who scored 17 times for Liverpool this season, had been linked with a move away after a difficult first full season in England.
With Liverpool once more failing to qualify for the Champions League, speculation began over Suarez's future almost immediately, but he has come out quickly to reject the claims.
"Being honest, I have never talked to anyone from Barca or Real Madrid. If the rumours are to be believed I would have already played for 20 teams," Suarez told the Liverpool Echo.
"Liverpool have had a good season and we got to two cup finals. In the Premier League we did not finish as high as expected, but positive things have been taken. Liverpool is a 10/10 club for the support they give the players. I am very grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play in the Premiership."
