Emmanuel Adebayor has confirmed he is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over making his stay at White Hart Lane permanent.
• Redknapp hopeful of Adebayor deal
Adebayor, 28, joined Tottenham on a season-long loan from Manchester City last summer and went on to score 17 goals in 33 Premier League matches for the club.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has made it clear he would like to prolong the Togo international's stay with the club, but admits his hefty wages at City could prove a stumbling block.
Adebayor, though, is hopeful an agreement can be reached. The striker wrote on his official Twitter account: "Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman (Daniel Levy) to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!"
