Germany coach Joachim Low has revealed that Marco Reus and Mario Gotze will be part of his squad for Euro 2012, predicting the youngsters will play a leading role in his side.
Low names his 23-man selection on May 7, but he told Sport Bild magazine about
his expectations for the Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund players,
all but guaranteeing they will be in the group.
"Marco Reus has not played with us so often, but for me he is one of the
winners of this Bundesliga season,'' he said of the 22-year-old Gladbach man,
who has led the side with 16 goals this season.
"Gotze, on the other hand, has been with us for just about a year now, but he
plays like he has always been part of the national team.
"I believe that both of them are going to be more than just super-subs at this
European Championships.''
Gotze is currently on the road to recovery after undergoing groin surgery in
January.
He returned to Bundesliga action as a substitute for Dortmund last weekend and
is expected to be fully fit come Low's squad announcement early next month.
