MEXICO CITY (World News) - Mexican President Felipe Calderon named the head of the national intelligence agency as new interior minister Thursday following the death of Franciso Blake in a helicopter crash last week.
Alejandro Poire, who was appointed director of the Center for Research and National Security (CISEN) on September 9, was previously Mexico's national security spokesman.
Blake, who had been interior minister since July 2010, was killed along with seven others when their helicopter crashed in cloudy weather south of Mexico City.
