G4's 10-part documentary series 'Bomb Patrol: Afghanistan' (Tuesdays, 10PM ET on G4) follows the United States Navy's Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) platoon, stationed in Afghanistan and tasked with searching for and disarming explosives like Improvised Explosive Devices, commonly known as IEDs.The show has been following the eight-person platoon for a few weeks now, but in our exclusive clip from next week's new episode, we see that the stakes just keep getting higher.
Chief John Groat gives Brendan Schmutte the opportunity to lead the team for the first time. They're called to investigate a recent explosion that killed an Afghan bomb tech while he was trying to dissemble an IED. The team is investigating and plotting out their options, believing there are more explosives nearby, when suddenly an Army patrol drives through the blast site.
