David Savic is only the second player ever banned for life

Daniel Koellerer is currently fighting his ban

Serbian tennis player David Savic has been banned for life after being found guilty of match fixing.

The 26-year-old, ranked 659th in the world, was also fined $ 100,000 after being found guilty of three violations.

He is only the second player to be banned for life, following Daniel Koellerer who was also found guilty of match fixing in May.

The three violations include 'contriving or attempting to contrive the outcome of an event.'

He was found guilty of the offences, which occurred in October 2010, by the Tennis Integrity Unit, who met on September 12.

The ban begins with immediate effect and means he cannot participate in any tournament or competition organised or sanctioned by the governing bodies of professional tennis.

Savic reached a career high 363 in 2009 but has never played above the challenger circuit.
