This week in TV clips was at times horrifying, but ended on a positive note. Last week's 'X Factor Flashing' gave way to the Nancy Grace nip slip. And then Andy Rooney retired, which inspired outpouring of mash-ups saluting his career in grumpy old man musings. Both Ed Helms and Seth Rogen got Jersey Turnpiked by the 'Jersey Shore.' Oh, the horror. The Nancy Grace on 'Dancing With the Stars' experiment was bound to end badly, but Monday's nip slip may go down as the crime of the century. Grace has been protesting her innocence then, but the damage to has already been done. America will never be the same again.
Andy Rooney announced his retirement from '60 Minutes' this week, and 'Early' honored him with the first of many mash-ups we'll see of his signature gripes. Rooney was like America's grouchy, endearing uncle, and we'll miss his musings on the culture and
Ed Helms saw experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in the last few weeks. He was named the new boss of Dunder-Mifflin in a move that puts Andy Bernard front and center on 'The Office.' And then he did the "Jersey Turnpike' with Denna from 'Jersey Shore.'
The 'Jersey Shore' came up again on 'Late Night,' when Seth Rogen talked about partying with the crew and thanked them for being like stuntmen doing dangerous things for our entertainment, like drinking tremendous amounts of alcohol and sleeping with strange people.
Finally, TV's prodigal son has returned. Jaleel White went on 'Wendy Williams' to talk about his upcoming role in 'House' and to reminisce about 'Family Matters.' It was good to hear that he's still living well off of Urkel residuals, and we look forward to his return to TV.
