Solskjaer, 38, retired from playing in 2007 and went on to coach United's reserve team for three years until he moved back to his native Norway in January to manage Molde, who he played for before signing for the Red Devils in 1996.

The former striker, who famously scored a dramatic injury-time winner for United in the 1999 Champions League final, has guided Molde to the summit of the Norwegian Premier League in his first season and with seven games remaining they stand on the brink of lifting a first ever league title.

Solskjaer's exploits in Norway have not gone unnoticed and reports in the past few days have suggested that Blackburn's owners Venky's are lining him up as a replacement for Steve Kean.

However, Molde have moved swiftly to deny the reports, insisting that Solskjaer is happy to stay in Norway for the forseeable future.

"These rumours will not let Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lose focu s in the run-in for the Norwegian League," A Molde spokesman told talkSPORT.

"Ole thrives at Molde with his players. He has an agreement for another two-and-a-half years and these years will be spent with Molde."
