Seven Clean Coalition Leader Acquitted

World News - Coalition leaders Net 2.0, Ambiga Sreenevasan and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was released on Saturday (09/07/2011) night after giving their statements to the police in Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters (IPK KL).

Moments after his release, Ambiga congratulated the people of Malaysia on the demo which took place on Saturday.

"What I said, once again, is that we are not intimidated. It's no longer just a matter of electoral reform. What we have achieved today is the will of the people have advanced the democratic process. This has opened the eyes of Malaysians," said the Amiga.

Amiga was the first to be released among seven people arrested at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters. Police want all of them were released today.

This is the seventh person Ambiga Sreenevasan, Abdul Hadi Awang, Maria Chin Abdullah and Jude Rubis (Net Coalition steering committee member), Nurul Iman (daughter of Anwar Ibrahim) and the two others.

Police Detective Chief Directorate Kuala Lumpur, Ku Chin Wah said all prisoners would be released this Saturday night. "We expect all who were detained in police Pusdiklat in Pulapor released at 18.30, while those who were detained in the necromancer and the KL police headquarters (IPK) released until 21.00 (Malaysia time)," he said.

Previous MPs Valley Beach, Nurul Izzah appeared at the police station to visit his sister, Nurul Iman who was arrested by police.

Nurul Izzah's visit was quite surprising because previous reports that the lawmaker was arrested. "Yes, we were arrested. We were asked to wait in the field, but the handcuffs are not working and no one else in the police there. So we went," said Nurul Izzah give clarification.

Nurul said that the police deliberately set them up on both sides of the tunnel KL Sentral and fired tear gas at them. Tear gas canisters directly on and hurt them. Among guard Anwar suffered a broken nose.

19:50 pm Malaysian time, Nurul Iman, Mary, and Rubis was released from police headquarters. This means seven people from the Coalition for Net 2.0 was released from police custody.

Meanwhile, PAS Central Committee member Mazlan Aliman confirm that at 19:40, Deputy President Mohammad Sabu Party PAS and two vice presidents and Mahfuz Omar Salahuddin Ayub who was detained at a police station necromancer had been released.
