World News - Syria claimed the opposition anti-government protests will continue after they rejected a speech President Bashar al-Assad who said he would hold a national dialogue.

Just a few minutes after Assad's speech broadcast live on the government electronic media on Monday (20 / 6), reportedly rolling wave of new demonstrations in several cities.

A spokesman for the activists said they were no longer demanding reform, but the change of government.

In a speech that was broadcast live nationwide, President Assad denounced the men he calls the saboteurs tried to exploit the legitimate demands of citizens about reform.

According to Assad, these people tarnish the image of Syria in the demonstration last three months.

About 1,300 civilians were reportedly killed in a wave of antigovernment demonstrations in various places in Syria, said the activists. More than 300 soldiers and policemen were also killed in the anti-government action.

Speaking in a speech to the masses of supporters at the University of Damascus, Assad expressed regret for the casualties in the demonstration. He claims the Syrian nation and he himself felt the loss of the victims.

When responding to Assad's speech, an activist from the opposition said that Assad's speech addressed to people who are loyal to him rather than to its opponents.

However, supporters of President Assad said the speech Monday encouraging and responsive to the demands of the Syrian nation.

President Assad in his speech said saboteurs should be excommunicated.

"What happened today had nothing to do with reform; was associated with vandalism," said Assad.

"The demands on the road can not be a justification to cause damage to this country," he said.

Syrian president also said the agency would be created a national dialogue to formulate a plan of reform, and others will be created a committee to review the constitution.

"We must provide opportunities for dialogue, for Syria's future depend on it," he said, adding he expected the reform package to be completed no later than September.

Assad also urged thousands of Syrians who fled to Turkey in order to return to their homes as soon as possible.

Syrian leaders specifically mention al-Shughour JIS citizens, where government forces recently took over control of the city after the violence that claimed more than 100 casualties from the security forces.

"The state will protect them. [Officials] were there to protect them," he said.

Assad delivered a speech that one day after opposition activists announced the creation of an agency to lead the struggle against his regime.

The council called on citizens to cooperate in all cities and provinces to achieve the legitimate purpose of knocking down the regime and the trial.
