Reporting from the page the Associated Press, the bombing occurred on Monday, May 30, 2011. Eye witness, Waleed Mokbal, said that the explosion was followed by heavy smoke occurs several times in the city. Mokbal said most of the missiles are targeted settlements.

"The sound of explosions and fire bullets sounded many times in the city. Mutual firing occurs without interruption," said Mokbal.

Weak defense of government in some Yemeni provinces touted to be a gap for the entry of militants, mainly from al-Qaeda network. However, the militants allegedly contained in Zinjibar not come from al-Qaeda.

Most of the militants in the city are veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq during the civil war in 1994. They initially demanded was appointed as a member of the security or the army in Yemen, but it turned into not controlled by mastering some of the city.

"Not all armed militants in the region is al-Qaeda. It is not clear whether or how they work together, the situation is really messed up so there is no clear information," said Gregory Johnsen, Yemen expert at Princeton University, USA.

According to hospital sources al-Razi who is unnamed, the number of victims killed in Zinjibar since last Saturday to reach at least 34 people. Sources said the victims were militants, soldiers and civilians.
