Militants Attack Pakistani Military Base

World News - Militant groups stormed the single largest military bases in Pakistan. They destroy reconnaissance aircraft that provided the United States (U.S.).

Four people, including officials of Pakistan Navy and a firefighter, was killed after 15 militants into the base. Similarly, as reported by the Associated Press on Monday (5/23/2011).

According to a statement from a spokesman for the Navy, Iran ul Haq, militants are divided into several groups and they put explosives before hiding.

A P-3C Orion, maritime reconnaissance aircraft provided by the U.S. to Pakistan, has been destroyed. It was raised by Salman Ali, a spokesman for the navy.

Other reports said a technician from the United States was working at the base at the same time when the attacks. However, a spokesman for the United States Embassy Alberto Rodriguez denied the existence of Americans on military bases.

The attack began when heard three big explosions. A dozen navy and police eventually deployed to fight the militants.

Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the attack. "cowardly attack will not deter the government and community commitment of Pakistan to the war against terror," he said.

However, the Taliban in Pakistan, has promised to take revenge for the death of Osama bin Laden.
