World News - Israeli President Shimon Peres on Sunday (29 / 5), told Deputy Secretary General Asha-Rose Migiro that Israel supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state through negotiations rather than unilateral proclamation of the General Assembly, September.
The move, according to Peres, will not result in the establishment of a real country. The only way for the establishment of a Palestinian state is through direct talks between the two sides separately, added Peres, as reported by Xinhua.
"gap between the two sides are not too wide. There is no doubt at the end of the talks there will be a big difference between opening and closing positions as happens in any negotiations," Peres told Migiro said, according to a press release issued by his office in Jerusalem.
Regarding the pro-Palestinian group plans to launch another flotila to the Gaza Strip with the aim of breaking the Israeli sea blockade, Peres said: "International law allows a country to prevent the entry of ships that have not been checked and if there is suspicion that the ship carrying weapons."
He has spoken about the issue with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and asked him to speak with a loud and clear in opposing fleet of other boats on the front to the Palestinian enclave.
