Syrian Security Party opened fire on hundreds of protesters
World News - Syria Warming - Syrian Security Party opened fire on hundreds of protesters who gathered overnight at the city of Homs. The demonstrators gathered to protest against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

According to an activist, before police opened fire on protesters who gathered to ask the town square in Homs to leave the area. Not long after troops opened fire.

The security forces also used tear gas in this incident. At least one of the protesters were injured. So reported Reuters on Tuesday (04/19/2011).

Several hours later, the Syrian Interior Ministry declared all forms of protest actions that occurred that country is a form of rebellion against the government. Specifically, the government filed this charge over the incident which occurred in Homs and Daraa.

The Syrian government has accused the protesters were armed groups supported by the Salafist group. They considered trying to terrorize the civilian population of Syria. Salafist is a hardline Islamic group that is considered equivalent such as Al Qaeda.

Earlier, President Bashar al-Assad announced on Saturday, April 17 and that he would end his rule that has lasted for 25 years.
