Research In Motion (RIM) is reportedly considering building a plant for the BlackBerry in India. In addition, local media also indicated if RIM will make India as an export center BlackBerry.
According to Cellular News reports on Monday (3/28/2011), RIM had to spend approximately USD150-250 million as investment.
"India is an important and strategic market for RIM and its mobile sector, a dynamic and rapidly growing offer great potential for further expansion,"explained one of RIM's spokesman told the Hindu Business News.
"As part of RIM's strategy in India, the company has been seeking resources to support the growing opportunities," he continued.
Furthermore, RIM also informed if Robin Bienfait Chief Information Officer will be in India to meet with a number of important customers and their colleagues BlackBerry and prospective business partners.
RIM faces several problems in selling the handset in some Asian countries, including India, due to local regulations related to information access email and BlackBerry Messenger services.
