TOKYO - Japan's National Police said the 7.700 people listed as dead. While more than 11,651 other people were reported unknown.
One week after the devastating earthquake that hit Japan last March 11, the death toll continues to grow. It is feared that the conditions in some areas are still devastated, it is possible that more found many more victims.
It is estimated that most of the missing victims are outside the quake zone when the tsunami struck. Plus the power of the tsunami, like many victims of the tsunami waves are drawn back into the wide expanse of water.
