Inter Milan could cash in on defender Maicon, with a host of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, thought to be interested in bidding for the full-back.
Maicon, who has a year left on his contract, has been linked with moves to PSG, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
"We first have to decide if we want to sell Maicon," Inter president Massimo Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Only then can we evaluate what to do. PSG are nevertheless building a superb team."
Maicon, 30, moved to Inter from Monaco in 2006 and made 24 league appearances for the club last season.
Inter are looking to strengthen th eir squad with the signing of Palermo centre-back Matias Silvestre, but it appears they will have to increase their €7 million offer.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini said on fcinternews.it: "Inter are negotiating. For seven million, Silvestre will remain with us. We paid seven million plus half of the sporting rights of another player that was worth two million. If a club like Inter wants him only for seven million then the player will remain with us."
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Inter have not yet made an offer for Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. The Slovenia international is seen as one of the best keepers in Serie A and is also reported to be interesting Tottenham.
"We had a meeting with Inter last week," Udinese sporting director Fabrizio Larini told Gazzetta dello Sport. "They have expressed an interest in him but nothing else.
"We know that Handanovic is a player that Inter would like to have, but we don't want to sell . We will listen to offers, but that doesn't mean we will accept them."
